11.20.09

i am so freaking excited!!!

the weirdness begins.

sigh...life.
alot is happening right now.
as of yesterday i am living in a city, a real city, (a not college station or nac city) for the first time in my life. i guess the word to go with it is....overwhelmed.
how will i ever find places. if i wanted to go somewhere i wouldn't even know where to begin because i have no idea where anything is! that is the good thing about a small town, there is only one of everything. there is only one wal-mart, one movie theater, one of all the restaurants...do you see my dilemma?

i feel alone.

i find myself asking question like:
why am i here?
what am i doing?
am i here on God's will or mine?
why did i leave my home?

my life is definitely not in control right now. the perfect time to make sure that i am not attempting to control my life but He is in full and total control. my soul is hungry and thirsty. i pray that this summer is used for maturing my childlike faith. i want to know Him more. i am desperate for Him.
i went to the village church last night and it was INCREDIBLE. i do have one small concern. it is so far away and so big...how do i become an active member in the body?
i deeply desire for that community. after attending living hope it will be hard to find a church that compares and i want the village to be that for me.

although right now i am scared of what's to come, i do have high hopes for being in dallas this summer.
1. i need to become a go getter, confident in myself and what the Lord has planned.
2. i am being forced to brake out of my shell in many ways and i am slightly fighting it.
3. i want a part time summer job which will mature me in many ways. i am positive.
4. i hope for a growth in my faith; learning trust, obedience, discipline, love, etc.
we will see.

when i wake i find myself here,
and at the end of the day i find myself here,
at the feet of my beloved savior.

i am taking each day, each hour one at a time.

i miss mindy and michele. it is weird without them near.

hello world.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
1 Timothy 6:17

i get to see kings of leon in...3 months!
one day i want my own library...this one is perfect! (take out pug and insert a cat...haha)
i desperately want a kitten. disclaimer i will still love midget (see picture on side!)
this little girl has stolen my heart. look at that tummy!!
blissful.
He who is in love is wise and is becoming wiser, sees newly every time he looks at the object beloved, drawing from it with his eyes and his mind those virtues which it possesses.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

my mind plays tricks on me

the last couple of days have been interesting...
when friends go home things change.
your phone never rings.
you are utterly alone for large amounts of time.
i am still waiting for the screen door to slam...
i never want to live alone.

on the brighter side mindy and i are getting some great qt together!
last night we made an awesome dinner with food that people left
salmon
couscous
zucchini
sherbet
it was perfect, we sat outside and felt like adults.

and...i want a dalmatian.

don't forget gossip girl finale tonight and the bachelorette premiere!
i heart jillian
team nate or team chuck?

flying a kite in a hurricane

so all of my roommates have up and moved on and out of our house...
i am doing my best to not be sad,
to remember that the best days of our lives are ahead,
to know that God is great and He has a plan for us all,
remind myself that we will all be in dallas for the summer,
but the realist in me can't help but scream nothing will ever be the same.

we will never live under the same roof again,
maybe never the same city again,
and slowly life will continue.

these verses are my prayer:
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
1 Peter 2:11

Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends!
Philippians 4:1

food for thought

at any stage in life everything is uncertain.
i am learning the true meaning of faith and leaning not on my own understanding...
i pray for clarity and discernment at this time of life and that i do not listen to my own evil wants and desires. God protect me from myself.

these verses have been encouraging reminding me that God's will will be done.

"remember the former things, those of long ago; i am God, and there is no other; i am God, and there is none like me. i make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. i say: my purpose will stand, and i will do all that i please. from the east i summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. what i have said, that will i bring about; what i have planned, that will i do."
Isaiah 46:9-11

"so abraham called the name of that  place, "The Lord will provide", as it is said to this day, "on the mount of the Lord it shall be provided"
Genesis 22:14

the very heart of the gospel is realizing that God did not simply provide a sacrifice for us bu instead of us. that is the good news. there is only one way to receive it after we have understood it--with profound humility and gratitude. maybe even on our knees...

undeniably heartbroken

as each day passes i push back the tears that will soon fall from my eyes in excess.
the past 4 years have been incredible...blessed...not always perfect but close...and of course full of laughter.
i feel that this forced separation of best friends is not fair.

i am utterly devastated.
each day i reject the thought that it is one day closer to the end.
the 12 favorites have made me into the person i am today...so i ask myself: how will i go on with out them.

all i want to do is lie down and beg time to stop.
...but since i constantly try to speak truth to myself i realize that we only have a short time in every stage of life.
enjoy EVERY second, minute, hour, day, weekend...
i despise the fact that each laugh we have or perfect moment experienced we have to stop and ask will this be our last?

God why do i have to choose?
i want to turn around!
as i sit here and write this with tears falling down my face i know that each second, minute, hour...with my 12 unbelievable besties, were worth the pain i am feeling now
i am also realizing that nothing will ever be the same but God is good and i pray that these friendships last a life time.

to my 12 favorites, you know who you are, and know that i have deeply cherished every single moment i have had with y'all and y'all have changed me for the better leaving me ready to face a dying world with open arms and an open heart.

"First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you-- that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine."
Romans 1:8-12

i will be lost without y'all...

"The pain I feel now is the happiness I had before. That's the deal.”
~C.S. Lewis
