in college we always went to the beach...we should have gone to the mountains.

the eagle has landed...in austin!

we did it!!

elyse, kortni, and i have found somewhere to live in austin.

it was touch and go there for a while.

but here are a few snapshots of our lovely little home.

i can't wait to move in with e and k...

we are going to decorate the heck out of that place...within reason and a tight budget of course!

it is located pretty much directly north of austin, right off of mopac...i think it is around 20 min from downtown maybe less! 

i am so excited!

God is great!

now hopefully minner will end up there somehow...fingers are crossed!

one thing i miss is in your eyes.

i know it is hard for most people to believe but i do own a crazy creek chair.

i use to sit in the chair in mindy's and my room on ayrshire and watch tv because we didnt' have anywhere else to sit...memories.

i wish i was sitting in my crazy creek in this orchard with my ipod playing eyes by rogue wave and the book i am reading at the time and my bible. 

that would be heavenly for a few hours.

then a pic-nic with chicken salad and cupcakes and fresh cherries...

friends would be involved somehow.

the perfect afternooon.

i love the rain the most

i saw a rainbow yesterday on the drive home.

it was the perfect drive.

i was surrounded by pine trees and it had just rained and there it was...God's promise.

i have been away from the small town life for way too long.

now i understand the lure of the suburbs...the perfect mix of city and country. 

i am enjoying the fresh air, no highways, abundance of trees, seeing the stars at night, driving with my knee, driving with the windows down...i miss the little things. 

there are also awesome things about the city too but it is nice to come back to ones roots.

soon and very soon

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for i have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengths me.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

the job search can be discouraging. also, it is hard to know if teaching is what i am passionate about and want to do the rest of my life. i am trusting that for the time being this is where God is calling me to be and he will provide a teaching job exactly where he wants me to be.

i pray that my time in the next city i live (still hoping austin) is filled with challenges in my faith, being uncomfortable, constantly taking steps of growth and not being a coward, loving on those around me while bettering myself all the while. 

God i pray that whatever you do you do not leave me the same! thank you for this summer of self-evaluation. thank you for showing me my many flaws and a means to fix them. this summer has been challenging but i now see the purpose in the sorrow you've brought into my life. 

soon and very soon, we are going to see the king.

lake day

today was lake day!

it was chalked full of fun, laughter, and friendship.

days like today remind me of how blessed i am with the friendships in my life.

i got a little more burned then intended and fell way too many times!

i also could not stay on the tube for some odd reason...i still think they were up to something!

we swam, tubed, knee-boarded, danced...you get the picture. 

things i learned:

i cannot be in the sun for more than 10-15 minutes...seriously.

taylor wastes food.

calli is an expert tuber!

drew doesn't have a tattoo.

cat literally knows every things about boats and the lake...bilge pump!

michele is aerodynamic.

mindy likes to have serious talks on the tube...watch out!

brooks has a sixth sense for species in a 10 mile radius that he would like to catch, kill, shoot...you name it (aka he is the next new show on the animal planet)

call me crazy...but right now i am dreaming of a white christmas.

i want to wear: jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, leggings, coats, boots, gloves, toboggans, etc.

then i want to go somewhere that has a lot of snow...alaska, canada, oregon, washington, russia.

and there are all the winter/christmas movies that come out!

0000 i can't wait!

then there is christmas but that is another ball of excitement!

::to teach or not to teach...to teach::

today was the first day of my alternative certification training to teach.

only 6 days left.

it was a long day...

9 to 4 isn't bad but i was just sitting a this table in a huge room listening to a speaker...boring.

yet informative and interesting.

then for lunch i laid in the grass and ate my lunch by this pond. 

it was the perfect day to sit outside! then...

i come home at the end of the day and find like five chiggers all over my body.

they truly are disgusting little parasites.

it is just a sacrifice i have to make to lie in the grass and cloud watch.

right now i am addicted to the song "eyes" by rogue wave and "cath" by death cab.

let freedom ring!
