big freeze 2010.

so i love cold weather but this year i am just over it.
it is more annoying than anything.
not to mention that it doesn't look like this picture when it freezes.
i just know that tomorrow if there is any ice i will find it and i will fall...i am already embarrassed.
so fingers crossed there is no falling tomorrow...

nac-town homies.

miche i miss you already!
i am super excited about your new york adventure.
thanks for being such an awesome friend!
love love love you!

psalm 119:32

each day i come back to this chapter i fall more in love with it and hopefully through diligence and prayer i will fall more in love with His word and the Bible itself.

i can't help but meditate on this verse:
I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart.

after reading this verse over and over again i find myself hitting my forehead and saying, "idiot, you actually thought you had control of your heart." i am learning that as hard as my mind wills my heart to sway one way or another or listen to truth...my heart only listens to Him. i also find myself wanting and trying to give my heart to everything, anything, anyone, and any passion that catches my fancy. i always end up broken. on my knees. asking why? now i see that it was me the whole time seeking things that will only fail me.

Lord enlarge my heart for YOU!!! i picture myself in a market place begging anyone that passes by to buy my heart and when no one will purchase it, i start offering it for free.
what am i doing?
i come back to this verse.
I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!!
i am finally understanding my hopelessness without Him.
now i am learning diligence, meditation, endurance, strength,...love.
before i take another step further i must be in love with His word.

who are you giving your heart to?

119.

psalm 119 is moving, encouraging, and finds me right where i am.
lately i find myself returning to this chapter again and again.
i pray that one day i will love the Bible and God's commandments as much as the writer.

10: with my whole heart i seek you; let me not wander from your commandments
11: i have stored up your word in my heart, that i might not sin against you
25: my soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word
27: make me understand the way of you precepts, and i will meditate on your wondrous works
28: my soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word
29: put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law

my soul sings, how i love YOU!

passion.

i wish that there was required reading at church.
i would love to hear about great books and...
the about book is INCREDIBLE.
i think that everyone should have to read it.
John Piper you are a G.

"the basic goal of my life and the reason for writing this book is to direct the attention of more and more people to the pleasures of God revealed in Scripture; that we might see in the pleasures of God some of the infinite measure of his worth and excellency; and, in seeing this glory, be transformed to the likeness of his Son; and give ourselves so passionately to the work of mercy and missions, that all the nations will see and give glory to our Father in heaven."
::: John Piper, The Pleasures of God

what a lofty goal.

song of solomon.

i adjure you, o daughters of jerusalem, by the
gazelles or the does or the field,
that you not stir up or awaken love until
it pleases.
song of solomon 2:7, 3:5, 8:4

this verse is mentioned 3 times in song of solomon.
i can't help to take heed.
